Chili in soft food phase?

Hi everyone.  I know I have read several posts about eating chili, like a small Wendy's chili during the mushie/soft food phase.  I start soft foods tomorrow FINALLY, and just wanted to verify that is accurate.  I guess I am worried of the spices more than anything.  I won't be home tonight to make some tuna salad for lunch tomorrow so just wondering if it would be worth trying some chili.

Thanks,
Steph

Yes  meat and beans are both good protein,    Just make sure it is not too spicey at first.

I was very sensitive to tomato based products in the beginning.  Even now they give me a little grief!

I ate Wendy's chili on my soft foods diet.  It is not spicy.  It comes with a bag of spice you can add, but don't!  It is probably going to taste pretty good, so remember to chew and chew and put your spoon down between bites.  Go very slow!

First day of soft foods for me and had a pureed spicy chili for lunch - no problem, after 2 weeks of optifast and 2 weeks of creamed soups it was absolutely wonderful

Enjoy

Hey Steph, the 1st night I did mushies I had some Wendy's chili with cheese and tossed some sour cream on top too - YUM!  I hate spicy food, but their chili isn't spicy at all. It's high in carbs as per the Daily plate, watch out for that, but I couldn't eat the whole thing at once.  First time took me 3 gos, 2nd time was 2.  Go forth and enjoy some chili!

Chili is wonderful in the soft food stage, or any stage after that.

I make my own, from scratch.  Carole Shelby's Chili Mix isn't bad either.

What Wendy's sells is NOT Chili, at least not any form of chili that would be recognized in Texas, New Mexico, etc.  It's an OK bean dish, but it ain't real chili!
