Soooo - a couple of times I have heard the term "sliming" - what is this?  What causes it?  What are the triggers? I seem to see it more in connection with the LapBand folks, but some sleevers as well.

or foamies, is when  you produce alot of saliva in response to eating too much or too fast.

YUP, that is exactly what it is. I have done this a few times and I don't like it at all!!
The way I see it, it is just another advantage of the sleeve. It has and will help me from eating too much and ESPECIALLY, eating toooooo fast!

It is when your mouth fills up with saliva and it just keeps watering and filling up. this happens if you eat too much and is to be avoided at all costs because it is not pleasant!

The only time it has happened to me is when something got stuck. I have issues right now that normal sleevers don't due to complications so things get stuck with me where they don't for most sleevers. Since my esophagus has opened up more I haven't had this issue even when overeating. In the case of overeating I just throw up the excess (yummy).

This Sunday I ate too fast and soon thereafter experienced sliming. You feel like throwing up and when you do what comes out is a large glob or two of slime. The chicken didn't come out just this thick slime stuff that went down the drain so fast I didn't even get a good look at it.

Fortunately, after 30 minutes I was feeling better.

A few wees ago I drank 2 glasses of water and then ate a little fish. That's when I experienced the foaming and pain in my chest. Even after throwing up I sill had pain for 2 hours.

Now I make a point of not eating when I drink and eating slow.

Good luck,
George
