How many ml/oz is your sleeve?

Hi

I have been thinking over stuff my Dr said to me after my WLS and I have been wondering ever since is 200ml/6.7oz a "normal" size sleeve? Is it abit bigger or smaller.

My Dr said even with the pre-op diet my stomach was the largest he had seen and removed and could understand why I could eat so much and always felt hungry. I lost just over 20lbs pre-op.

I was told before WLS that 1/2 a cup would be the amount I could eat after everything settled down so it's around a 2oz difference. I understand that not everyone can have the same size as we are all different.

It's just got me wondering that's all. I know I will still lose weight going from a stomach that can hold very easy 84+ oz down to 6.7oz will still work. I'm working it

Many thanks

My surgeon told me TWICE right after sugery that my stomach was HUGE. I really didn't know what he expected me to say to that. So I just kind of looked at him. hehe

I eat more then half a cup. I'm still on pureed/soft foods. I know that those are not as 'dense' as solid foods, but I can eat a lot of them. Especially as slow as I eat. I am wondering as well just how BIG my stomach is.

yeah for you for working it sweety!! Shake it, shake it, bounce it! lol

Look forward to reading your journey to health and energy!
*big working it hugs* hehe

Most of the time 3 oz (dense proteins). Sometimes 4 oz depending on the food. Also, the time of month makes difference. 1/2 of a protein bar & I'm stuffed. Also, keep in mind our stomachs might be the same in diameter, but differ in length.

Mine is a 2 oz pouch that will stretch to 6 oz post-op 1 yesr.  The more restricted the better.  It's about making a lifestyle change and the restriction is a tool to help aide in this change.

How much your stomach CAN hold should not be the question.  If you are relly dedicated to getting your weight off, you don't need to worry about how much it possibly can hold.

You SHOULD be measuring everything you eat.  If you do that, and train yourself to always do that, you won't overeat.

Part of this process is learning self control.  You have to have a committment to permanently changing your lifestyle, and living a healthy life, or you will fail long term.

It's up to you.

Hi

Thank you all for your replies

Medic ----I was asking a simple question about other peoples sized sleeves. As I am a curious person who works in the medical field and is looking at changing over to a different part of it.
I am not complaining about mine.

I DO measure out my 125mls of liquid everytime just because I have a sleeve that holds 200mls doesn't mean I drink that amount.

Best wishes to all

I can drink about 4 oz of liquid, but not eat that much food (more like 2oz.)
