Did the Doctor weigh you with clothes on?

Eat a high sodium meal tonight and for breakfast and drink a ton. You should bloat right up! I have a friend that did her initial weigh in with roles of quarters in her pockets. No joke.
Good luck!

Yes, you will weight with clothes and shoes.  I wore a jogging suit and thongs.  They are light weight.  Yes, the dr will examine you especially to see how large your liver is and to check your stomach, and will take a surgerical history, etc.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

With a 40 BMI why are you worried?  Eat a good meal and go the appt without having to stress yourself.  You'll be fine.  I bet you will have to take your shoes off and the fancy-smancy scales they use acct for clothing anyway.  Mine did some other body scans while i was undressed and no way I could have added weight on those.  Interesting times!  Good luck!

WOW listen to all of the conning going on.   This is about honestly within yourself and helping yourself.   You will need that honesty and strength to keep on track .   This is only a tool and success will be facing this as a new life style.      Be your own best advocate -  be real

Good luck   Do not cheat yourself before you are even out of the gate.

I don't consider it conning. I think she is being smart and trying to ensure she gets the surgery she needs. Insurance companies are the ones who are always trying to find a way out of paying. If a couple pound difference means insurance authorization and not, she is best to do what she can to sway things in her favor. I had to fight like hell for my surgery too. And I am sure glad I did! I'm confident I saved my life. My "insurance" couldn't care less.

No your insurance company is betting and its a good bet that we will come back for a revision or regain the weight back.     Hope your fight to get the surgery is as hard a s the revisions was.

By the way there is such a thing as insurance fraud.

What do you mean by "Hope your fight to get the surgery is as hard as the revision was?"

And yes, I know there is such a thing as insurance fraud. I acknowledge that I am jaded about insurance companies. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I don't consider weighing oneself with clothes on or after a meal etc. fraud. Insurance companies end up saving tons of money in the long run by paying for this surgery.

I had the same kind of thoughts, I had calculated my BMI at 35 and I was concerned even though I have 2 co-morbidities.  My husband told me to wear ankle weights under my pants!   I was too chicken to try that.  I did have to take my shoes off and they ended up calculating my BMI as 36 at the office.

Imagine if a doctors visit required an airport security metal detector and pat down.

For me it's socks off for the scale only.

Did you guys get a height test?
