Do you recognize danger? Do you stand on the guard rail?
I guess we all have toxic spots where we feel it necessary to whip it out. Comes with skin, I suppose. :}
Kaua'i is where we were! Are you island hopping, or staying in one place? InfoDiva lives on Oahu I just found out, so in case you might be going there, she is a weath of information on that!
Do tell where you are going and I bet somebody here has good things to share, if its a different island than Kauai! I am excited for you! It was lovely!
*and I missed the snow and freeze in Atlanta, so eggcellent timing! :} *
Kimmes, who posted here also, has more experience on Kauai than I do, but here is what we did.
Hiking to the waterfall on the north side - the road dead ends at the trail head, WEAR HIKERS, take water and a snack. We finished in less time than it said it would take, but fella and I keep a good pace.
Fella Ziplined in Princeville, he zip and dipped, there are other zipline adventures too.
He scubad on the south side (no north side scuba during winter, the water is too rough) if you scuba and they say its a 2 tank dive or whatever, ASK IF ITS A WALK OUT OR DO THEY BOAT YOU OUT.. cuz if its a walk out, you can probably see the same stuff if you just snorkle on the shore.
We did the stand up paddle boarding in Honalei bay, that ws fun but the wind was monsoony, so we paddled and then hiked and that was fun. They also do zip lining.
We took the Helicopter ride from Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tours, beauty and amazing. This is near the same place where we started our stand up paddle boarding.
We were going to hike Waimea canyon, but it was rainy and foggy that day, so it was a no go.
We stayed at the Outrigger/Beach Resort at Waipuli. Beautiful and across the street was a Safeway to get foodies, walking distance were places to eat, and a little further, but still walking distance was the town of Kapaa, where the Olympic Cafe has yummy food and a nice view while you snack.
That's kinda what I know girlie! Poke Kimmes and Infodiva and they can be helpful I am sure! Or too, go to the Hawaii state board and ask around there! Bet they have loads of insider information.
have fun!
Oh, also a sunset cruise (dinner or not) on the Na Poli coastline (up on the north side, near Princeville) is supposed to be BEAUTY!! We didnt do that cuz being on the ocean makes my love green, so being on the ocean AND eating food? Lets just say, if we were going to feed the fish, there are cheaper ways to do it. :}
And don't even get me started about your mama..... totally her loss.... totally!!!
I am glad somebody else can get something about of my vomiting up soul debris! :}
Yea, well, she's the mama. We do the best we can with what we have. Some days, our best is not what anyone, especially us, would wish for us.
If we are lucky, we get to try again tomorrow! :}
Muwah. Thanks for being an encourager girlie. I appreciate it.
I have tasted the guard rail and it is hard and steely!
I had a birthday mishap or three. I thought I had planned for it, but didn't do as well as I thought I had. I am still reeling a little from it. It's in my nature to say, "fuck everyone. I don't need anything or anyone." when I get hurt and then go away with my ice cream that won't disappoint me (at least in the moment). But that ain't gonna work any more.
I have to, and do use the guard rail. Make good choices. Avoid the slope. Otherwise there are bad choices in my future. I've been at the bottom of that slope and I'm climbing out of it one pound at a time. Thanks for being at the top waving your arms like a crazy lady.
