Who says we can't enjoy food anymore?
Yes, it really does have a LOT to do with how we present it to ourselves.
Normally I might have warmed the chicken sausage and turkey chili in the microwave, and had a sugar free fudgsicle as my treat before bed. I decided though to saute the chicken sausages, warm the chili on the stove, and make eggface's protein ice cream. I got so much more out of making it a "food event" with my family, even though it was the same food I would have eaten. You just don't get the same aromas, and the anticipation, when you nuke something!
I also love to cook and often miss preparing the big family dinners.
