Fainting/dizziness problems
Hey guys, I don't ever post on here, I usually stay on the 20s board. Anyway, I am 10 months post op, 20 years old, healthy, yada, yada.
The past few weeks I've been getting extremely dizzy after standing up.. every time I stand up! Even if I've only been sitting for a few minutes.Recently, it's beeing getting worse. I feel the blood rush out of my head, lose my vision, everything goes blurry, and I start to sway like I'm going to actually faint. I haven't gotten to the point where I've fallen yet, but the dizziness/ blurred vision has gotten worse the past few days. It goes away within about 5-10 seconds after standing up.
Any ideas?

A doctor visit, for sure - but when I had similiar symptoms several years ago, it was low blood pressure. The Dr. adjusted my meds and the symptoms abated. Sometimes, after significant weight loss, meds can cause issues, or we can discover other issues we never knew we had. Congrats on your impressive weight loss. Now, write a note to call the doctor.....

Sounds to me like you are dehydrated. Are you getting all of your fluids in? Being so far out, you might not be thinking about sipping and drinking like in the beginning. I agree with the others that you need to call your doc and possibly have your labs checked. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.
it is called postural hypotension. i get it too, worse when it is hot out since this makes it harder to stay well hydrated...but yours sounds severe by your description, and like you are at real risk of falling or passing out-?
since it sounds like forcing fluids and rising slowly have not been enough to keep it at bay, i agree you should discuss it with your Dr to see how to manage it, or if your medications should be adjusted.
good luck.
