food processor or blender?

I'm several weeks away from the pureed food stage, but I wanted to check if it's easier to use a food processor or a blender for this. I already own a blender so I hope I don't have to buy a food processor. I think blenders work better with a little liquid, and some of the "gastric sleeve food guides" indicate it's good to have liquid in your pureed food anyway.

I was thinking the same thing pre-op. I purchased a personal blender (already had a full size blender) and i was debating on a food processor.

Instead, I purchased a Ninja. and i love it!!! it purees things fabulously and works as a blender. so it's double duty

What about on of those small food processors? I think I paid about $7-10 for mine. It's not like we'll need a big one ;)

Hi Mike,
You would have to be making enough for an army in most food processors!
I even found my blender made too much food, so unless I was making 2 weeks worth of pureed asparagus and popping it into ice cube trays to freeze and store, my hand blender was the best.

I have a Braun, but you can get inexpensive hand blenders now, put roughly chopped meats or veg, enough milk, tomatoe sauce or yogurt to allow it to mix into a coffee cup or small flat sided bowl or can, and use it to chop and mix it up right in there.

Otherwise head to Walgreens or Walmart and get a "mini" food processor. It only holds about 1 to 2 cups of food at a time, and you will be able to eat that much over the course of 5 days or so.
Love my little rubbermaid plastic containers!
Have fun.

I don't own a food processor. I survived the soft/mushy/pureed phase just fine.

I got a bullet blender... And I love it. I use it every day. You definitely don't need a food processor. You can use the blender you have and it'll work just fine!

I have a teeny food chopper/processor thing and I LOVE it.  I loved it before surgery because you can use it to chop all your veggies and nuts and things.  Then flip the blade over and you can mix things, like guacamole or right now I am using it to thin down my canned salmon and chicken, etc..small, easy to clean and no other attachments or fancy things you have to do.

I got my generic Wal-Mart brand bullet and it works pretty good. I like it because it has different cups. I was constantly washing my blender. It was $20.
