Question about pre weight loss

I am just in the beginning stages and have not say the dr yet. My surgeon requires a shrink visit then insurance approval before you meet with him..but my question is..I read on different post that Dr require a certain amount of weight loss prior to surgery.why is this?

i think it depends on your surgeon i hear some people say to help shrink the liver or to see if you can  stick with the program .  or insurance purpose ?

Mine requires 5%.

Sometimes the insurance requires the weight loss program and some require a certain amount of weight loss. Otherwise, it's individual preference by doc. Good luck!

 It is to rid the liver of fat so it is more manuverable.  If you watch Dr. Alavarez's videos on youtube he can explain it.
