Hi family!

I am ok'd to move onto a normal diet tomorrow ( YAY!!)  but am not sure about a few things.  I know tortillas are carb-rich, but I am not a carb-person really.  I was wondering if ( in moderation of course ) I could have a tiny bit of tortilla or will it get stuck?  I'm visiting New Mexico, I have to have some NM food!!

How soon did you guys move onto salad and strawberries?

Thanks for all your help! Oh BTW, I will be one month out on Sunday.

I was cleared to eat anything I could hold after three weeks. I would think just a small piece of tortilla would not hurt. Have fun in NM and watch out for the wildfires.

Amanda,

My mom lives in ABQ, and we went to the fireworks the other night at the balloon fields.  The moon was SSSOOO red, it was eerie, and looked like Mars!  I was told then that it had to do with the wildfires.  That was the most bizaar thing I had ever seen!

Rio Rancho is a nice town!  Going to Carlsbad this weekend.

I heard it was quite a specticle at the Balloon park with them setting the field on fire lol.  It was really eerie a few weeks ago when we got hit with smoke from the Wallow (sp?) fire.

That's where I live is in Rio Rancho, though we're planning on moving to Oregon next summer.

Have fun in Carlsbad =0)  how long you here for?

If you have the option to chose your tortillas, they make lower carb/high fiber ones that might be a good option among tortillas. If not, just eat a little and enjoy

I have another 2-3 weeks of puree'd food. For some reason, i had a dream of eating grilled cheese sandwiches last night !!! (and it's not like that would be my #1 choice of food - totally weird!)

I keep having dreams about forgetting about my surgery and scarfing down a ton of food, to then remember I had surgery.  Before any puking/sliming happens, I wake up!!

How did your appt. go today?

Revision on 01/13/14
I was told not to have any solids until 6 weeks. I'm now just over 2 months out, and still haven't had anything sharp, nuts or has larger seeds.

Revision from sleeve to RNY is set for January 13, 2014.

Im almost 9 months out and flour tortillas are still the only thing which make me feel yucky. Its not as though they become stuck, as you suggested. Its more like Ive eaten a sponge or something. I try every few months....no luck so far. :)

I was cleared to have solids and had almonds that day with no problem.  I was 4 weeks out.  I also had salad about 5 weeks out and was putting strawberries in my shakes when I was in the full liquids stage.  I had no problems with all of these foods.

When you mention food getting "stuck", I don't think that happens with the sleeve.  It happens with the lapband, and it's horribly painful.  Only once did I overeat and I literally choked up the last bite.  I wouldn't even call it a vomit.

Good Luck and Congrats!
