Wish I was further along. Well I can report I have lost 42 lbs since surgery. About 66 lbs with the presurgery stuff.

Is it?? Thank you. I'm beyond grateful for the pounds but rack my brain each day about doing it right. I'm counting my protein and water but I still have weeks with nothing. I also exercise 3-4x a week for at least 1 hour.

Hello All,

I'm new to the site.  I had surgery on 4/29/11.  So, I'll be 3 months post-op on 7/29.  2 weeks prior to surgery I was 267lbs.  My surgeon required 2 weeks on a liquid diet (Bari-Essentials), so the day of surgery I was 250.  Yesterday I was 220lbs.  However, my scale is always different from the Dr.'s scale, so we'll see when I return to the Dr. in Aug.  If my scale is correct, I've lost 30lbs and I often feel like this is not enough.  I'm sure I need to drink more water.  How do I get that cool weight tracker?

I am feeling the same way. I am down about 44lbs since April 13, 2011. I feel like I should be down more and have gone weeks with no loss or weeks with very minimal loss. I try to do my best but I am wondering if I am doing it right.

Hopefully as time goes on we will see more results. Maybe I am just rushing the progress.

Good luck!

wow, I don't feel like such an alone "Debbie Downer".  so many of us struggling.   I have slowed down to a snail's pace and that's all I have been thinking about.....    Feel like crap wondering why I am not losing more (is it my DD lattes with skim milk)?   Am I eating too much?   How do I exercise more with such bad knees??     Am I a loser?   Ouch -- such negative thoughts.  Let's think positive and be greatful for our successes -- wether WL or NSV's.

Hell I have to remember I've dropped a few pant sizes and I can fit into a booth without getting my belly and boobs stuck!

According to your ticker you are just about half way to your goal weight.  Looks like great progress to me!

Just want to say thanks for posting this.  It's great for us newbies to see that it isn't always a downward slide.  Sometimes we will lose a little slower than at other times.  kind of like being on a roller coaster I guess.

My thought is to remember that it took me a few years (few?) to put this weight on, so why would I think I'm going to lose it all in a few months.  That's tough to reconcile though because I see how much less, like 98% less food is going in, more water consumption, more exercise and still the weight doesn't fall off like it seems that it should.  Maybe that's our bodies way of keeping us healthy as we follow the journey before us.

We should all celebrate every pound lost as one step closer to our goals of healthier bodies and like was said before, also celebrate the NSV's of lost inches, clothing sizes, and shoes that don't fit anymore.  And the added side benefit of shopping for new clothes etc.

Stay with the plan, fight for the goal! Lose for life!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the support!  The hubby says I'm just impatient.  Tell me what you all think about exercise.  I am exercising daily (walk 2 miles in about 36 minutes on the treadmill).  However, I have heard people say that after WLS they lost 100+ lbs without ever dropping one bead of sweat.  My Dr. really emphasizes the importance/benefits of  exercising.  At this point even though I eat very little food I feel incredibly guilty if I don't work-out.  Please share your thoughts/experiences.
