All this gas!!

Holy Cow! I am officially one week out from surgery and I am so rumbling! I don't know where all this gas is coming from, my belly is thundering, popping, groaning and giving Godzilla sounds from what? I am sure I already burped out all the anesthesia, I am drinking only clear liquids and am not using straws or sippy cups.

It's embarrassing sometimes....it is loud!  I am taking my pepcid twice a day, I am up to 70 oz of water including 40 grams of protein.  When will this end? I am already afraid to let a fart out unless I am on the toilet  I am afraid of what might happen next Tuesday when I start full liquids...can you imagine the sounds of milk and thinned out cream soups??

Any ideas?  Will Beano drops help?

I am a month out and the alien that i have been told they implanted in my belly has calmed some (lol) but the gurgling/grumbling/popping still happens alot! you just have to get used to it, maybe it will go away for you? everyone is different, but i am still certain its an alien... haha.

When I was in your situation, for me it didnt last long at all.  But then again I didnt have much
Gas.  When I did, I used my GAS - X strips and they worked amazing!

Hope this helps...  and its great to see you post about your recovery.
keep up the good work girl!  I am so in your corner!

Whether constant or just episodic,
If your bowel sounds aren't melodic,
And you sometimes will howl
From a cramp, and cry foul,
What you need is an antispasmodic!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

GasX is a life saver.  Also, if you use a shaker to mix your protein shakes in then you can get the infant's gas drops and put a couple of drops in the shake before you shake it.  It will get rid of all of the bubbles and will help with the gas bubbles some.

The worst for me was when I drank whey protein and milk .  I am 7 weeks out and still have gas a lot.....I try the phazyme and gas x but it doesn't seem to help.....I am still doing cheese and cottage cheese.  I know that I have developed lactose intolerance to an extent, but still can't give the cheese up completely yet.  I work alone at night so let it grumble......I don't care....but it's not something that I want to have forever......the nectar protein drinks were the worst at giving me the gas.....
