So my doctor wants me to be on Liquid Protein for the 1st 2 weeks after surgery. And since my surgery is this Tuesday I wanna make sure I have everything when I get home. So does anyone have any suggestions on good liquid protein? Thanks :)

the best tasting broth is called better than bouillion. au jus was my favorite. you won't be able to get much of anything down right after surgery. just stay hydrated at first. in a few days youll be able to get liquid protein in after surgery.

First of all, good luck and best to you in your diet and surgery/recovery.

I was told by my dietician that you NEED carbs when ONLY doing the full liquid diet before and after. So your protein should be as closely matched to carbs.

I used Walmart's EAS with milk. Do not like the chocolate but mix a little with more vanilla since I had already bought it.

It tastes fine with milk. I use Lactose free skim.

Warmly, Jan

The Atkins Advantage shakes worked best for me pre-op, and I am still loving them post-op. The Cafe Caramel Shake is my absolute favorite, not as many grams of protein as the others, but I add a little bit of either chocolate or unflavored powder to it and it is great! Taste like an iced coffee!! Yummo!
