11 Months Out!

So hard to believe that it has been 11 months since my surgery, so much as changed. I am much healthier, happier, and thinner! My knees are fantastic! I haven't been back for cortizone shots in six months and no pain meds.  I'm excercising, walking the dog, and enjoying life so much more.

We leave for Hawaii tomorrow morning and it will be my first time in an airline seat since the surgery. Funny thing is that now that I could fit, my wonderful son-in-law decided to upgrade us to first class so I won't be able to tell the difference! However, I'm sure I'll have much more energy to enjoy our vacation.

I still have problems getting all my water and protein in but I do my best. I go back next month for my one-year check up and I'm a little concerned about my labs since I've been a little lazy in taking my vitamins (kind of hit and miss). I don't eat bread or rice and only a bite or two of pasta but not very often. I don't do protein shakes but I do eat powercrunch protein bars and have a greek yogurt everyday.

I'm down a total of 143.8 lbs (that's an entire person) and I would do this all over again if I had to, but I hope it's for life!

HUGS! Cathy

Thanks for sharing your story!  Have a wonderful time in Hawaii.  while you on the plane,
sit in a seat so you can see the difference. Wait until your the last one off the plane, or if the
plan isnt full, hop in a seat so you can see and feel the difference. " Just a suggetion"
Amazing you lost 143 pounds!  Congratulations with your 11 months and your amazing weight
loss.   Huuugs

Wow, you've done fantastic!  So encouraging for someone new to this life.  Have a wonderful vacation.  (And I agree with the idea to sit in one of those little airplane seats after everyone else gets off, I think it would feel so good to fit in that seat!)

Thanks for posting.
It's nice to hear from someone who, like me, isn't always the strictest follower for water, protein and vitamins. I do try as well but have found hitting the mark to be "hit or miss".

However, I don't stress and it's working.

You look so good! You are an inspiration.
I hope you have a great time in Hawaii.

FYI, I sat in first class at my highest weight, and I could barely fasten the seat belt...  First class seats don't have that much bigger belts.  As you sit in your seat an pull inches and inches of the belt through the loop, be very proud of yourself

I'm flying next week, and can't wait to fit in the seat decent!!!
