I was sleeved Monday Sept. 26th.  Honestly, preparation is fine but your taste buds are so funny after surgery.  You can measure but you won't be able to eat much.  Gas X upset my stomach and I bought 2 boxes of it!  I felt worse the time I took that than any time after surgery.  The only thing that worked for gas is walking.  I spent 1 night in the hospital but my surgery was early.  I am allowed to have strained egg drop soup and strained cream soup made with skim milk too.  Those taste best for me.  Popsicles help keep you hydrated.  You won't be able to eat a whole pudding or yogurt. I don't have much pain except for my largest incision. I stopped pain meds after day 2.  Take a loose robe and some comfy shoes to walk in to the hospital.  You will be confortable walking in those. For me, it helps to have walking flip flops because I can't bend to put shoes on yet.  I pray you have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!  Blessing to you!

I like calling North Carolina home!!!  Go Tarheels!

I brought my netbook with Itunes loaded on it and a few programs I wanted to see.  When I wasn't sleeping or walking, I could watch programs of my choice commercial free.

I also found the hospitcal had a free wifi network I could attach to and get online if I wanted.

This is one thing I don't see in the lists very often.  I really used it and glad I brought it, hospital TV is yucky and in someplaces expensive.
