has anyone lost their spouse after wieght loss? my heart is ripped out and i am totaly lost.16 years gone...just wondering if this is a common thing

In one of my classes I had to take pre-op they said about 75% of marriages don't survive after WLS. That one side or the either can't handle the changes.

I don't know how true that statistic is, but please know you're not alone. There are others who have gone through it too.

I've heard and seen this happen to friends who also had the VSG.

Try to nurture and take care of yourself in this difficult time. Lots of rest, warm baths, exercise. Take it one day at a time. If you don't already see a therapist, it might be helpful for you.

5'9" All weight lost post-op. Goal weight determined by body composition testing.

sorry....I tossed my ex husband out a few years ago, after it became oh so obvious that he was a cheating, lying SOB. We had been together 20 years; married for 15, with a 13 year old child. The next couple years, although a challenge for me, were the most freeing, most liberating years of my life. I learned alot about myself, my "friends", and learned that I had trusted the wrong man for 20 years of my adult life. All I can say is that you should hug that beautiful Saint in the front seat of your car, have a few good cries and find the BEST divorce attorney you cannot afford and get everything in writing. Know that you will be OK, and you will come out of this a stronger human. Let "I CAN" be your motto, and don't give up on yourself.
