It has actually been a year and a little over a month out!  I guess you can say I'm one of the lucky ones...everything went as planned and no complications at all!  I am off all meds, and I was on quite a few, I feel amazing with more energy that I ever thought I would have at 57 (well, I will be 57 tomorrow)!  I have a few more pounds to lose, but I am happy right where I am and truly feel like a brand new person!

For those already on the journey, best of luck to you for much success.  For those considering, do what is right for you, but don't ever let fear hold you back.  I am so thankful that everything worked out for me to have this surgery, and it has made me a happier, healthier and more confident person than I ever knew was possible!

The pictures came out kind of small, but there are more in my profile if you would like to check them out!

Congrats!!! You look amazing! Your starting wt and goal wt are similar to mine, so I was wondering if you could tell me how your weight loss journey has been this past year (if you remember how much did you lose at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months). Thanks

I looked at my calendar and for some reason I only started writing it down in January, but I know I was losing pretty steady for the first few months.
Here is what I have:
Surgery  10-04-10     194 lbs
01-02-11   158lbs
02-13-11   147lbs
02-27-11   145lbs
04-20-11    133lbs

I really didn't keep very good records, I just know it kept going down.  I have stayed between 131-133lbs since April, but I am fine with that.  I am only 5 ft. tall, so a I would like to reach my goal of 125lbs, but if I don't it will be okay.  My skin is a little loose, but at my age, I think it has bounced back nicely.  I work out, (I teach martial arts) and my arms and legs are still fairly muscular mostly some loose skin is on my stomach area, but nobody sees that anyway (just my husband and he doesn't care)!

Good luck!

Oh yeah, I wear a size 6 jeans now and a med. top!  Never thought that would happen!
