Started my pre-op liquid diet today and feeling weak and shaky
I started my 10-day Optifast 800-calorie liquid diet today, per my surgeon's orders (I know, great timing, right? LOL), as my sleeve date is Dec. 6th. Since about noon, I've been feeling incredibly weak and a little shaky. I've been taking in plenty of water, so I know it's not dehydration. I drank a cup of chicken broth midday, which seemed to help a bit, but I'm back to being weak and shaky again this evening.
Just wondering -- has this happened to anyone else when they started their pre-op liquid diet? If so, how long did it last?
Thanks!
Kelly

Keep something going in your mouth almost all the time -- tea, Crystal Light, broth, sf jello, sf popsicles ... anything allowed. Your body is going through detox! The more liquid you keep pouring in yourself, the less hunger you will feel, and the easier time you will have. These first three or four days are the worst, but you can do it! Just keep slugging down those liquids. Best wishes. This will be over before you know it, and you will be on to your new life :-)
