Had my Psych evaluation

So i had my psych evaluation yesterday and i have to say it was not what i expected.  She was very nice and basically we had a chat.  Felt like i was talking to an aquaintance.  She asked me about my family, hubby, kids.  Asked about what my expectations are,  Told me what i should expect after surgery.  That was it!  She also mentioned that she has support group meetings and that if i was interested i could leave my email address with the receptionist and if i ever wanted to talk to her AFTER surgery to call her office.

So I think I PASSED my psychiatric evaluation! YAY!  I feel like i just got a A+ on a test!

My 3rd NUT visit in May 8th. Still waiting for the HR office at my hubbys job to give the insurance company the Explaination of benefits, which we have not recieved either.

Be sure if your INS is paying that you call and make sure you dont have to do the million page questionaire/psych testing. My Ins made me go back and do the testing as well and said that didnt count, and it took forever to get another appt.

Oh wow!  Gonna have to check that out.  If im not mistaken all i need is a letter from her.  They did not mention anything about a questionaire.  Thanks for your post.

Thats great! My psych eval was just like yours. I was sooo scared, I thought that i was going to feel interegated, but it was the complete opposite, she asked me the same kinda questions as yours did and she was sooo nice, and i passed too. Yay! Lol.

I too was scared to death!  I was worried about the "wrong answers"  I think being well informed about what to expect, the surgery and everything i have learned on OH made a huge difference.

I am pretty sure it did make a difference. I told her not only is my family my support group but sooo is all the wonderfull people on OH, an important part of my support group, I told her I have learned so much and asked alot of questions and done my research, She was sooo happy to hear that, she says she goes on OH too.

my process was a bit backwards cause i went to the surgeon before even going to a seminar. So last week i had to go to the seminar and I could not believe how many people walked into that seminar without even doing a bit of research.  You should of heard some of the questions.  I was shocked.  The surgeon was starting to get frustrated cause she had to expain things more then once and also because of some of the questions that people asked. 

So at one point i raised my hand and i asked what size bougie she uses.  I wish i could of taken a picture of her face!  It was truly priceless.  She was shocked that i even knew what that was and said to me "Sounds like you did your research".  If felt so good to get that response!  Turns out she uses a 40 which i am wondering if that is small enough....
