C-section tummy after VSG?

Lots of talk about excess skin lately! Well, I have had a lot of excess skin ever since my first c-section over 22 years ago. After my 11 pound son was born 18 years ago I developed a tummy that folded right over my scar line. I've had it ever since, even after losing 80 pounds. For those who have had this, what was your experience with the excess skin?  I assume I will never lose my fold over tummy, but I am wondering if it will just get bigger after weight loss.

Google "tummy tuck" that will get rid of that skin, once you are closer to goal of course. Good Luck

Pura Vida is right...unless you're incredibly lucky.

But this is also pretty much only if you only want to wear a bikini.  I am down to a size 2 & 4 and in clothes I look fine and wear tankini swim suits and occasionily consider a Tummy Tuck but the scar on that is worse than a c-section.  Oy...fun!  lol

I'm so glad you asked this! Really my story is almost identical to yours...C-section almost 20 years ago and have developed a fold right at my incision line. I carry most of my weight in my middle section so as I have gained weight, that spot right above my incision line has grown (yahoo!). I am curious about how that will be after losing all of the weight.

Good question!!

Still in the weight loss mode (well stalled at the moment lol) here, have the belly pouch from c-sections and yep they continue to hang. Hopefully some day I can have it removed but it is the least of my worries right now. Here they will only cover the panni which is fine with me, not a person that goes out showing my stomach anyways but I feel if I am going to go through that kind of pain I might as well get the tummy tuck done and get it all fixed up at once. I will probably have to win a lottery first though and would love to find a surgeon that will fix all my areas at once so I never have to go through this type of pain again lol. I am looking at almost a year salary to get it all done if I have it done in Canada but hopefully I can save enough to just go have it done in Mexico or where ever offers the best care and results.

i had 2 sections 30 yrs ago, very low scar with same situation with a fold of skin over it, even when i was slim (back then). i am in Canada and had provincial approval for removal of pan (even when i was at this weight), but i havent been able to loose and keep off weight that i want so didnt get it done, but with my surgery on wednesday, i hope  to be applying again in about 6 months.... so they will pay if it is bothersome, irritated etc., wait list will be biggest frustration.

Yeah my fold just collects moisture so I put powder there most days after a shower and drying it well. I do get cystic acne in the area and hopefully they will cover it here as well due to irritation. After my last c-section I basically walked around with faceclothes tucked under the flap to keep the moisture away from the skin. I can't understand if they will do a panni why not a good tummy tuck all together. Does it really involve much more? I am not concerned about having stomach muscles etc.. but I have extra skin above the belly button as well that I would love to have removed at the same time if I am going through all this pain I want it done right.

Well mine did get worse as I got thinner...lots of stretch marks too.  My tummy was a wrinkly mess so I had a lower body lift and now it's beautiful.
