What do you have for breakfast?

I leave my house at 430 each morning that I work.  I typically have a protein shake on the way to work and once I get there I have cottage cheese mixed with yogurt.

I'm starting to get bored with that, and thought you all could help me with some ideas for a quick and easy protein filled breakfast.    I don't mind cooking, but I just can't do it that early of the morning. So if you know anything that freezes well that will work too!

Thanks,
Amy

Turkey sausage links are great, and can be cooked ahead of time.  boiled eggs, cottage cheese is always good with canned fruits.  cheese sticks, or sliced weigh****chers cheese/wheat crackers (2) are good too.

I may have to try turkey sausage links again.   When I had the lap-band I had to be really careful about foods that needed to reheated.  So far my sleeve is a lot more forgiving when it comes to reheated food.

Thanks for the ideas!

The egg, sausage/bacon/ham/pepperoni (whatever meat you prefer) with cheese baked in muffin tins are pretty awesome. They freeze, thaw really well. Make a bunch, freeze in freezer bag, pull out 1-3 (depending on size) the night before work, pop in microwave for 15-20 seconds, run out the door.

It's just eggs (whipped up with a bunch of seasoning, I add some half and half for the fluff factor), browned meat or bacon crumbles, shredded cheese of your preference. Baked at 350 for 20-25 minutes depending on the size of your muffin tin, insert knife if it comes out clean they are done,  (mini muffins tins obviously do not need the full 25 minutes. I spray mine with Pam butter spray, pop them out, allow them to cool, freeze in a gallon size freezer bag and VOILA, I have breakfast for a week.

It's going to vary based on what you add to the recipe:

Here's a specific list of recipes.

You can throw all the ingredients into myfitnesspal or another calorie counter and get a number.

I figure each regular size muffin would yield 14-18gr of protein based on 1-2 eggs (7-14gr of protein), cheese (1/2 ounce of cheese) and then a few crumbles of the meat. It's really going change based on size, contents and how much meat to cheese to egg ratio for each muffin.

I love string cheese.  I just never thought of having it for breakfast!   This is why I love this board so much.  It helps me think outside of the box lol.

I usually have 2 turkey sausage patties when I get to work in the morning.  They're fast, easy and taste pretty good.
