"You need to stop losing weight"

Well meaning people (family members) have told me that I need to stop losing weight now, and that I am looking "gaunt".  My reply has been to tell them my current weight of 180 lbs.  This usually shuts them up, but I am sure there is a better response and It's really none of their business anyway.
I know that weight loss can make you look older (wrinkles), but I'll take the trade off anyday because I feel so much better.  I have more energy, sleep better, less aches & pains.....
I have gone from a size 20 to a 14 and haven't been this comfortable in years.  Hey well meaning people, shut the **** up, please.

When you get the answer let me know!

I get the same thing at work, when I say I'm 160, it's "no way, you can't weigh that much".... "how low do you want to go?"

Great weight loss, congrats!

I normally tell them "until I disappear completely"...That usually shuts them up and I'm 209. What is their idea of "gaunt" anyway? The ghastly ghouls they see on TV??

This is VERY common, and super annoying. Alot of people are used to seeing us bloated so when we lose, it seems more dramatic.

But one thing I have found and why it is super frustrating is this-

When I was obese, I was too fat, everyone wanted to tell me I needed to lose weight (yeah, cause I didnt already know it).

Now, when they see me, I am too thin/scrawny/whatever.

WHICH IS IT?!?!?!?

First I was too fat, now im too thin. Decide people. Please, tell me, at what weight am I pleasing to YOU!

And WHY is it appropriate to constantly discuss my body size? I wouldnt DARE comment on someone elses. Its not ok to talk about mine.

End rant!!!!!!  Drown them out. You will always be too X or not enough Y.

So here's the brutal truth (about me as well as you): Your face probably does look gaunt.

When we ask our bodies to lose substantial weight, they try first to take it off certain easy places (the face, the girls...) and keep it stored in the standard storage areas. The result: many of us, I'd even go so far as to say most, get sort of gaunt looking in the face well before we even reach a "normal" weight. That can be disconcerting - loved ones see that and judge our total loss by the appearance of our faces.

I'm told by a number of vets that it took another year or so after they finished losing for it to even back out a little but it does. I haven't got there yet, and yeah...my face looks a bit gaunt.

I explain this to concerned family members.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

This!  Also in clothes I can cover my tummy pretty well.  And I even say, man I don't look 180lbs.  But then naked you can really see that I still have 60lbs to lose.  So I guess I'll just ask people if they wanna see me naked, that ought to shut them up.
