My pcp is giving me the run around about my letter of medical nessessity ......
I had to make an appointment and actually SEE my pcp to get my medical records. Luckily i didn't need the letter of necessity. But i would make an appointment and tell her you need the letter. It doesnt have to be fancy it can be on her prescription pad. And if she doesnt give it to you then tell her that you will look for another dr that will.
If she decides not to give it to you call your surgeons office and they should be able to refer you to a pcp that will give you one. Good luck

Ok thank you so much I've already done the in person appointment deal but she told me to give her a week then the week went by she told me to give her two more days that went by she told me to give her until this Monday . Monday has to be it!!!!!!! But I'm definitely alerting my Bariatric office to see if they can refer me thanks again
I had the same issue with my pcp. He know about my decision to has vsg days after my vsg consult, but 3 months later and he still had not written my letter, even after me reminding him about it during my bi- weekly visits.
However, my surgeons office submitted my auth. request without it- and I was APPROVED 4 days later. Ask them if they r willing to submit ur info to insurance without ur pcp's letter.
