The b12 shot is a prescription.  Many people on the shot report low energy at the end of the cycle as it depletes.  Sublingual b12 you can get over the counter and take daily.  There is a third alternative, a weekly nasal spray for B12 that is also prescription.  A lot of people like that as well.

Why exactly do VSG ers need b12? I am taking it sublingually every day, but don't really understand its purpose.

You may not be able to absorb enough B12 from food or even multivits since utilization starts in the stomach and since you don't have much stomach left you need to take more than the "normal" person to compensate.

I take a b12 pill every night (not sublingually).  Does that not do the job?
