Bad day that started off so well!

I was in a stall for a week and then Friday I weighed and was down 2lbs. This morning I weighed and I am down another 2lbs. For the first time in a long time I am actually below 190lbs. I might have done a little dance. I actually dressed up for work with jewelery and everything but since I was running late I took my makeup with me. I haven't worn makeup in months.

Anyway I wanted to try coffee with chocolate protein shake in it.......so I put the protein shake in the bottom of my travel mug and let the Keurig run. No dice protein shake did not mix in and if fact turned to an almost rubbery consistancy. I thought oh well I will do it at work with my blender and that will be fine. My blender blew up all over my brand new dress! I cleaned it all up made new coffee to the blender to the office kitchen and tried again. Same thing happened.

So now I am covered in chocolate protein shake and coffee and my brand new dress is ruined. Of course I have to go to WalMart tonight before I go home so I get the double pleasure of sharing my luck with half the town, :(

Yeah... but you are under 190 and obviously happier with yourself (make up, jewelry) --- who cares about a little chocolate drenching ;)  small price to pay !

As for the protein in coffee - you probably cooked the protein.  Especially with as hot as a Keurig gets.  You have to let it cool.  Most protein does better under 130*  -  I think Unjury has to be kept at under 120*.  I would advise letting your coffee cool a bit.  Or get one of those thermometers (the little pocket ones) and use that.  Once the coffee is the right temp - it will work just fine.

Hope your day gets better :)

I have iced protein coffee every morning. I run my keurig into a coffee cup, and then dump the coffee into my tumbler that has ice in it. Mix the coffee and ice, then add my premier protein. If you're doing powder, add whatever liquid you use (almond milk, soy milk, water, etc) and then add protein powder in as you stir.
As for hot protein coffee, I haven't done that because I'm afraid of clumps and well.... I live in 120degree weather.

I never thought of putting my Premier RTD in coffee!  What a great idea!

I originally did it to mix in the vanilla box I had tried. I wasn't a fan of it, and the bottom seemed gritty. Didn't want to throw it out, so tried the coffee. Now, I use it with my chocolate premier protein and sometimes add in SF syrups for a different flavor. Not to mention, the coffee helps me with constipation :)

Sorry you got protein'd!!

For hot protein coffee- you need to add the powder to cold or room temp liquid (like creamer, almond milk) stir & get it all dissolved completely then add hot liquid slowly while stirring to temper it- that will prevent clumps from cooking it.. & don't try blending hot liquids unless your blender is made with a top that allows steam to escape or you & the walls will get decorated!
