Capsule prilosec? open and swallow or cruch the tiny insides?

My husband and I are confused. If it is capsule do I just mix with water and drink or do we need to crush all those tiny little balls?? help!

I happened to talk to my pharmacist about this very thing today. Empty the capsule onto your tongue or into a bit of applesauce, yogurt or something similar. Wa**** down if needed with a sip of whatever you like.

Don't crush the little balls those need to arrive into your stomach not crushed at all or the medication will not have it's effect.  You can google it and you will find all the information about that medication including how to take it.

I'm 2 weeks post op. I swallow my 20 mg prilosec whole. Per my dr. No trouble whatsoever.

I just get a little spoon of unsweetened applesauce and sprinkle it on that.  The label says not to chew so I just swallow it in one or 2 gulps. Been taking it that way since 3 days post op and it's working just fine. :)

My NUT told me to open capsule into a little applesauce or yogurt. Do not crush the snall particles.
