is this normal?

I've seen a lot of people on here say that once they. got. Home from the hospital after surgery they were 10 or so lbs heavier than they were before surgery. For whatever reason that never happened to me. In fact, when. I got home from the hospital I weighed 4 lbs less. Anyway, my surgery was Wednesday 11/21 and as of this morning I've lost 11 lbs. Is that normal?! I'm.honestly concerned that losing weight at that rate could be very unhealthy. Any input?

I know some ppl gained but i dont think thats the norm. I lost 10lbs while i was in the hospital. Im a lil over 5 weeks post op and have lost 41 lbs. Im averaging abt 1 lb a day loss. I think its expected to lose weight rapidly after WLS.

:) thank you for responding! I know weight loss is expected to be rapid, but being newly sleeved I feel like I have a million questions, despite doing months of strenuous research.  I think I just need to calm down (:  Congratulations on your weight loss, by the way.-that's fantastic!!

Np and thank u ...keep the questions rolling, i know i do lol. I dont think the research ever fully prepared us for this journey, thats y i thankful for this site. It allows u to talk to ppl who r n ur same shoes. But go ahead and enjoy losing that weight! Be blessed

Totally normal. It is very fast the first month or so and then slows down a bit. Some people DO gain from all the fluids right after surgery, others don't. Everyone's body is different in how they respond. Hang in there!

I was like you - came home with a loss and then kept losing.  Enjoy being one of the lucky ones!

I came home with a loss & lose everyday. Loving it!!! I dread when the losing stops everyday. This is magical! . I had my surgery on Tuesday.

Were almost sleeve sisters (; it definitely is a wonderful feeling seeing that scale go down every day. It gives me so much hope!
