I am 10 days post op and I feel great except for my stomach, anytime I'm sipping on anything which is All the time it seems, its hurting, not my incisions but my actual tummy, this scares me, all I can hope is it gets better, I'm still on liquids and don't know how it will handle mushies, etc. But I am scared that if it doesn't get better, what will happen, it has been so hard to get all of the protein in each day cause I get tired of all the hurting and cramping I get while drinking them, ugg any suggestions?

try drinking things at a different temperature... a lil warmer or colder than your normal drink and see if that provides you any relief....     for a while I couldnt handle hot drinks, then I couldnt handle ice cold drinks....   now I can handle both... Also your stomach is still healing so it is sensitive...

good luck

I don't use the RTD shakes but a general rule of thumb is that protein will clump and denature if heated too hot.

Personally, I would chill them down. SF popsicles and crushed ice were my lifesaver when my stomach was swollen and healing. Best wishes.

At this early out, fluids are your biggest priority (even more than protein), so try different temperatures of water. Im nearly three months out and still prefer to drink my water warm. It goes down MUCH easier.

In the beginning Super Cold was better for me as I thing it reduced swelling. Later warmer felt better (like a cup of warm tea). Now everything is good.

Warm or hot always and still works better for me.  To get a warm or hot drink without the protein clumping - dissolve the protein completely in cool/cold water - COMPLETELY!  So that it pours like cream.  Then heat up whatever you're mixing it into - milk, water, coffee - and pour the dissolved protein into it.  Stir like crazy.  Once it's dissolved, I've even been able to re-heat the drink with the protein in it without a problem.

Try Click! protein.  It's made to be hot.  Same thing with the Unjury chicken soup protein powder.

It WILL get better.  Your tummy is just swollen and angry right now.
