How long does the stab wound where they pulled the excised stomach through hurt with this stabbing/pulling pain when you move using that set of core muscle?  I envision it is where they abdomen wall is stitched back together tightly to prevent hernia later in life, but everytime I move to the side or try to go from laying to sitting using a logroll, shooting burning pain happens there. No where else, in fact, other than that I feel pretty dang good!  kiss  After I move through it for  a few minutes it fades and I can walk and move around with little problems.

Getting up from laying, and getting down and up from the pot are the main times it hurts, or coughing will pull at it a little.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Good question!  I have that one spot that is by far nagging as well!

That's been my only pain too.  Spoke to my doc office yesterday about it when they called to check on me.  As long as it isn't opening of draining, it is just healing.  I just keep telling myself that 80%+ of my stomach had to pulled out of that one so I have a reason for the burn.  I don't want to take pain meds just for that so I like you hold on to that pillow!  Be interested in veteran postings.

I had the pain in the largest incision where the stomach was pulled there too. It lasted I think  a couple of weeks but it went away! I never felt any pain there ever again. It will most likely fade into your memories and you will one day just wake up and not feel anything there.

I am now 10 days postop, and that pain is almost nonexistent at this point.  I can sleep comfortably on that side as well as my left side.  Maybe a twinge or two occasionally, but MUCH better.

Hang in there!

Mine lasted a couple of weeks too. And then it's over :-)

Due to the hernia my surgeon also fixed, my stomach was taken out through my belly button.  That's where the most pain was for me.  The pain subsided within a week or two.  Once you're up and around, it gets easier.

It can take as long as a month post op to feel back to normal again in this large incision spot.
