And I feel pretty good. I have had very little discomfort and I'm getting sips of water and jello down. Anyone thinking about Dr. Alvarez, he is wonderful. His staff and the facilities are great as well. I am so glad I did this already.

Congrats on making it to the losers bench!  I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Alvarez and was prepared to travel if my insurance wasn't going to cover me.  Safe travels and I hope your recovery continues to go smoothly.

I not only loved Alvarez, but honestly - I loved the hospital too.  In every positive way, it was like stepping back into 1972.  I had a ball.  Who can say that about a surgical experience?  Seriously?

How was it like stepping back into 1972?

I think it's been that long since hospitals were:

Silent.  No relentless mechanical beeping mortality reminders.

Spotless.  No, seriously.  Hospitals are filthy places with pockets of plasticized sterility.  'Superbugs' love modern hospitals.   (I could have eaten from the gleaming public floor here at five in the afternoon.  I don't know why I would, but I could.)

Personal.  I was myself.  Neither a number nor a procedure, not a body, in part or as a whole, but a person - the I, me, she that I am to myself and amongst friends.

I've done five figure "spa experiences" that were not as...rewarding, I suppose, is a good word.  It was not a luxurious experience, speaking materially.  Figuratively?  De luxe, oh yes.

(Should I ever require hospitalization, I tell my darlings to find a physician with privileges at this hospital.)

Can I get your email? I have so many questions. I'm schedule with Dr. Alvarez right now for Feb. 2nd but a follow co-worker said I made the wrong decision and should have gone with Dr. Aceves. I would love to ask you questions if possible.

Thanks so much!
