Sooooo I'm 4 weeks post op and don't take anything...bad? I 'go' every 2-4 days and it isn't 'easy' at times. My old norm was 2x a day. I see my surgeon in a week and a half, shall I wait to ask or just start some benafiber?

I am three months out and don't take a thing and go every morning like clockwork. I had two days of constipation right after surgery where I used glycerine suppositories but since then everything moves out smoothly and daily with no further assistance. I eat veggies though at every meal/snack except breakfast on weekdays (protein coffee). On weekends I make omlets and usually put a veggie in there.

I'm with you.  I think as soon as I can tolerate raw veggies that nutribullet is coming out.  Don't like taking veggies out of my diet carbs or no carbs (and they are so little anyway).

In the early days when I was trying to low carb it constipation was awful.  I relied on milk of magnesia and colace.  One I dropped the low carb approach and switched to 100 net carbs a day I was able to work in fiber.  Here is my most effective approach-

Fiber One cereal with almond or flax milk.  100 calories and over half the fiber needed for the day.  Typically in a day I eat 2 servings of the cereal so fiber for the day is taken care of.  Keeps things moving beautifully :)

Half Calorie Crackers by Fibergourment.  For a slightly sweet crunch I eat the cinnamon sugar version, for cheese and crackers I use the other varieties.  70 calories a bag, carbs are decent, prepackaged so I don't eat a whole box, and I really like them.  You can find them at netrition.com or amazon.

The food sources work so much better than the supplements imho and is worth working in a 100 calories into your eating plan, assuming you are in a phase that can handle the food.

My gastro butt doctor, yes the one who gets to see my ass suggested Align and Metamucil. Also the use of Miralax. The Metamucil capsules are so large I almost choke on them. I went to look for more of the huge ass pills to take and found a prebiotic fiber sugar free fiber choice. Has anyone tried this? It's chewable and so much easier to take. Oh, side note, grapefruit os great for your colon and seems to help as well.
