I am a reading specialist and work with 6 th grade students. Before I went back to school the other day I colored my hair and cut it a bit differently. My small group was moving right along when one of the boys burst out, " I get it now! You are the teacher from before! I couldn't figure out how you knew my name. You just look so different." Wonder what they will say in a couple of months.

Got to love it!!

I have found that my 10 year old daughter has been the best place for brutal honestly on this journey.  She doesn't know how to pull off the kind lie yet.

It was a comment from her that started me on this journey, she asked if just her and Dad could go on the bike ride w/o me cuz they can go farther then (I'll never tell her that though).  She is besides herself that I don't eat bread (or severely limit it) & thought I would be missing out on a slice of her B-day cake.  The most recent comment brought tears to my eyes, she was watching me brush my hair after a shower and saw how much hair I'm losing, she asked if I had cancer.  I reassure her I don't, it is part of what happens after the surgery I had and it will come back.  She is supper excited because I promised to do a C25K program with her in the spring so she can build up her endurance for track, little does she know I'm starting it now at the gym so I can keep up with her in the spring.

Best of Luck!
