Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking for a while and finally joined. I met with my surgeon, Sherman Yu here in Houston, yesterday and have my sleeve scheduled for March 6th. Nutrition tomorrow and Cardiac next Tuesday, Colonoscopy and EGD next Thursday. Phys and Pre-Op meeting next Friday. I will be on a liquid diet from Feb 19th onward.
I am excited for the journey, dreading the Colonoscopy (my first one and I'm 52) and the pain from the surgery. I will survive and the other side is so appealing I will show the strength needed.
I have so much respect for every one of you that have chosen to take life by the horns and do something to get healthy. I am soaking in all of the suggestions and experiences and I, as a newbie, appreciate all of your posts for the information and comforting they have provided.
I will pay it forward and will be active in posting with my journey so others may learn.
Let's do this thang...
Oh, and Happy Valentine's day to all the Ladies of the VSG forum

Welcome to the VSG page! I'm 2 weeks post op and am just now starting to feel pretty good. It takes everybody different times to get to that point. Be sure to read as much as you can here. As my surgery approached, it was a great help to know that so many before me had dealt with the same demons as I was experiencing. Having lost 26 pounds in less than 2 weeks, I have hit the inevitable stall. Had I not read about stalls on this site I would be in an absolute state of panic now that my scale hasn't moved for 4 days. The posts and all of the advice from the veteran sleevers have kept me sane and on track.
As for the colonoscopy, at your age you were due for one anyway. View it as killing two birds with one stone. Best of luck on your journey.

Welcome! I had my surgery last week (2/6) and I am up and feeling really good, every day gets better, in the three days after leaving the hospital i took a total of 4 pain pills, and none since, not even tylenol. A colonoscopy saved my life 2 years ago ( I am 53) the prep is the worst part, but well worth it:) Good luck with the rest of your journey.
