What I've learned:

1. Vigilance is an absolute necessity, never optional.

2. WLS is a serious undertaking. Do not do this unless you are ready to change your behavior and habits.

3. Food is only part of the issue-- dealing with your head issues is crucial to making it on this journey.

4. Go to support groups-- even if you think this isn't your thing, GO.

5. The thing that has kept me in line the most: Logging every morsel of food I consume on MyFitnessPal.

6. I am made up of a whole lot more than my weight or dress size.

Too shy to post pics. I've gone from a size 28 to a 14/16.

Great wisdom! Thanks for sharing. I work with someone who has a lap band and I wish they had done the hard work with their head issues. It is hard to see them eat such huge quantities of food and then get sick. I am 2 months out and loving my sleeve! The best decision I have made in a very long time.
