I am truly excited to share that yesterday at exactly 8 months post op I am officially 100 lbs down. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have imagined being 100 lbs less 8 months ago. This surgery has truly changed my life for the better. Yesterday a friend of mine also had the surgery. I can not wait until she too begins to feel the wonderful results that comes with VSG.

To anyone who is on the fence about the surgery... Go for it!!!!

All I can say is WOW!  My surgery is in July, and I have 160 pounds to lose.  If I could be down 100 pounds in 8 months, I think I'd cry!  Did you stick to all the 'rules' that the people on here who are successful tell you to do?

I'm not the OP but I lost well over 100 lbs in 8 months. I was pretty 'rule' conscious because I knew if I let myself deviate I'd gradually drift back into bad habits.

You can do this!

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

I am 7 1/2 months out and down 98 pounds. I had 150 to lose. So yes...you can do it!! I have good days and bad days. But in the end...slow and steady is how I roll.

What a wonderful job!  I admire your dedication and your results!  Any tips you can give those of us in the earlier stages?  What were your diet and exercise basics?  The experience of successful people helps me fine tune my own program!

Congrats again on your amazing success!
