Surviving a 3 Day Conference With Food Provided
Hi All! I just attended a 3 day conference that was awesome - and they provided lunch and snacks each day. I came up with some strategies to stay on target during the conference. 1 - the conference was at a huge convention center -so I did tons of walking during the conference - walked all over between sessions and always took the stairs. 2 - I brought 4 low fat cheese sticks each day and had 2 for breakfast and 2 end of day snack to avoid bad for you snacks that were provided. 3 - I drank at least 30 oz of herbal tea each morning - and 30 more in the afternoon to ensure I could easily make my fluid goals and stay warm in the overly air conditioned building. 4 - If sandwich was the provided meal - I stacked all the meat on one side and threw out the rest. 5 - When I did have a provided snack - I made good choices - breakfast burrito - just ate the inside and threw out the wrap, another snack had some humus and olives.
It was really great attending the conference, fully participating enjoying along with everyone else! I can honestly say no one noticed that I was eating strangely - would just do my thing and enjoy!
My take-away is pre-plan and you can easily stick to plan! Have a great night everyone!
