Does your sleeve have a name...?

Greetings My Friends!

I am now 11 days away from surgery.

I have been noticing a quite charming thing -- some of you have given your sleeve a name, and you refer to your sleeve by that name. So far, I notice that Italian-Princess has "Myrtle", and Kelly-AnneH has "Fred".

I love this!!

Are there any others whom I have missed? (or is it more correct to say "who"?)

What about you? Did you think about giving your sleeve a name? If you did give your sleeve a name, or if you are considering it, what name did you choose, or consider using, and why? And -- why give it a name in the first place, in your opinion?

This is fun! Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I apologize to anyone who has named their sleeves, but I have to agree. I prefer to own my VSG and I feel by giving it a cutesy nickname is sort of a way of not owning what has happened. This is my personal opinion and not a jab at anyone here.

Kelly-Anne and Fred here. I tend to name things anyway, and after I had my surgery "my sleeve" just seemed awkward to say, as in,"my sleeve doesn't like lemonade."

I thought about names. I thought about Tiny Tum, but it was too twee. I thought about Estella, because of a particularly sweet nurse. However, my sleeve had an opinion, and somehow Fred just seemed right. (Fred? But I'm such a girly girl - shouldn't it be a girly name?) Nope - Fred.

Fred has definite opinions,"A little whole grain pasta? Bring it on. White pasta? Forget it or I'll send it back." "What's with this dry chicken? I told you last time I don't like it so dry." "Hey! What's with this half-chewed food? Do your share up there, eh" (he's a Canadian sleeve)

You'll be living with your new friend for the rest of your life. He/she deserves a name.

I'm sorry Julia ! Richard Parker is a great name with great meaning behind it . When I feel down or tempted to eat something I shouldn't I think back to the movie , Pi did not give up , he wasn't about to let RP defeat him !! Although RP was very nice and happy when I fed him some yummy filet the other day !

I told my family about this at my Oscar party (as we cheered for Life of Pi wins) and they got a huge kick out of it!    They think I am obsessed with this message board and now they understand why!

I have been trying to think of a name for mine...nothing seems right though, any suggestions? lol

My reasoning is because it is so stinking loud, any little thing that goes into my sleeve it makes a "comment" lol. I feel just like the above poster, it seems like it always has something to say.
