I'm craving meatballs bad...I read in here that a certain brand of meatballs has 11grams of protein but can't remember the kind. Anyone has any idea? And where can I find it?

Pop into your local grocery store and read the labels. I'm a label reading fiend. You have to be sometimes. The HEB ones here are pretty good. Just keep in mind that serving sizes vary. I think we use the HEB brand, but I'm sure you can find something similar at your local store.

Red meat was a no go for me for a few months, my stomach didn't like it. So, go slow!

Or you can make your own. Here is a recipe from My VSG Recipes

Buffalo Turkey Meatballs

  Talk about easy and delicious!!!!

Ingredients:

1 pound 99% fat free ground turkey
2 oz cream cheese (I use philedelphia 1/3 less fat)
2 eggs
3 Tbl crumbled blue cheese
1/2 tsp black pepper
About half a bottle of Franks wing sauce

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
Mix all ingredients together EXCEPT wing sauce

Create meatballs and place on cookie sheet-- I made 12 out of one batch so they are little bigger than typical meatball size

Bake for 10 minutes

Then dump Franks into a bowl and VERY CAREFULLY pick up each meatball and dip into Franks wing sauce then return to baking sheet.

Bake for additional 13-15 minutes

I served them to the family with green beans and garlic bread and both my husband and son dipped theirs in ranch before eating.

1 Meatball Equals:

69 calories
1 carb
2 fat
10 protein
0 sugar

2 ounces of the Market Pantry turkey ones (from Target) have 86 calories, 4.6 grams fat, 3.3 carbs, and 8.6 grams protein.  I think 2 ounces is 3 or 4 meatballs... can't remember...

Trader Joe's Turkey Meatballs are amazing!! I no longer make my own, I buy them. Serving size is 2 meatballs, 100 calories and 11 gr of protein. I dont remember the carb count on them but it's low. Add a teaspoon of TJ's original Marinara and a little Italian blend shredded cheese....YUMMO!! Honestly my fav meal!!
