I can't believe it! I did it AND I survived! 15 Months ago I was 250 pounds heavier and the thought of walking even 1KM was horrifying! I was really nervous to go out and run today because I have been side lined from running due to a low heart rate issue but my doctor gave me the all clear to do it and just listen to my body and I went for it! After not running for almost 3 months I completed my 5km run today with a time of 34 minutes and 9 seconds (34:09). I practically was so overcome with emotion at the finish line I just wanted to cry! Of course many pics were taken but here is a small sampling!

Crossing the finish line

So happy to see my husband and son...(that's my mom's husband in the background who ran with me and cheered me on)

Yay me!!

My husband and son with me after my race!

That is awesome, way to go. It's great having your family behind you cheering you on. They can be great motivators. Now that you have your first 5k finished, I'm sure there will be more to come. I know when I ran my first 5k, I was hooked. Keep it up!

Oh for sure!  I am registered in a 10K race on April 21st (just 15 days away).

Pray for me!
