6 months post-op (with pictures)
Hello OH friends,
I have had a great 6 months. My highest weight was 278. I had surgery at 247 and am currently 172.4. My goal was 175 but have revised it. Can anyone tell me how to change my goal so my ticker reflects this? I love to change it so I can see it go down each week. Now that I have reached goal it doesn't change with me. I was a size 24 and I am now a 12!!!! I have done 2 5K's and have another one in 2 weeks. I am doing the wounded warrior 10K this summer also. That one will be great since I am a veteran and it will just touch home with me. Hubby will do the 1/2 marathon that day. Life is crazy good. I still do protein drinks and get in my vitamins and water. I started to see a bariatric therapist and didn't realize how bad I needed one. I have more insecurities than I thought. I am lucky to have my doctor's support group which is led by my therapist and also 2 bi-monthly support groups that many of the same people from the doctor's support group go to. My mother had the RNY last May. Basically, I have a great support team whether it is at home, with my friends, and even at work. I exercise 3-4 times a week. I am still loosing consistently. I hope to loose down to 160. I am 5 8.5 so maybe even lower. I joined the military at 178 so I am shocked to be lower than that. I left boot camp at 167 so that number will be a miracle since that is also the magic I am no longer overweight number also. Thank you for all the support. I have enjoyed learning from everyone.
Keep up the great work.
Paula
You are doing so great too! I start of each day with a protein drink. Usually a 35 g vanilla w 1/2 banana and 1 tbsp PB2. Blend in a blender. So amazing!!!! Lunch changes daily but can be humus with wheat thins, or a boiled egg, or a cheese stick with beef steak. I do snack on the 60 calorie beef steak which are 9-10g protien. Before I work out i eat a rice cake with 1 tbsp of peanut butter on it. For dinner I eat a lot of solid protien, chicken/steak/pork. I do eat salad with vinagrette dressing. I LOVE eating a slice of sandwich meat with 1/2 a piece of cheese, banana peppers, avacado slices, and onions all rolled up. My favorite which I eat 2 of about 5 times a week for either lunch or dinner. I drink a lot of water. I do eat some carbs but limit them . I work out a lot. My first 5 weeks out of surgery I was so week and had almost zero carbs. Within 2 days of adding a little I was in the gym for hours. I run solid for 40 minutes now. I also like weights. I like taking the different classes at Gold's to work out different muscle groups. I go about 3-4 times a week for 1-2 hours each time. I enjoy it.
Sorry for the tpos; I am on my phone.
