My surgery was 2:30pm yesterday. Woke up in a hell of a lotta pain, but after a couple of hours it downgraded to uncomfortable. I was so happy to have my mom, sister and boyfriend there through it all. I couldn't get much sleep last night, so I'm pretty groggy now. Otherwise, I feel pretty good!

I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Shikora and his team. I felt so confident in his hands and when we spoke today, he couldn't have been more positive about the procedure and my newly "sleeved" stomach.

Just started sipping water and its been a breeze - not a problem. I've been told ill be taking my first stroll through the hallways soon. Ill get to work up the gas then, but so far I've yet to feel very gassy. This procedure has been so much easier and less painful than I expected. So very, very happy!

Be good to yourself. Glad you are doing better than you expected to be. That is always a blessing. Walk, sip, sip, walk, repeat. Oh, and don't forget the deep breathing and incentive spirometer, very important.

Thank you for the advice, Mimi! The spirometer's been in my room since yesterday, but no one has spoken to me about it, yet
