Poor guy was sleeved on Thursday, and is not having an easy time of it ....he's dry heaving 2-3 times a day....he's got the liquid pain killer, and the anti nausea meds, and is only drinking water....

I feel so bad for him, as there is nothing I can do.....if it keeps up today, we will call surgeon, but he does have appt with him on Friday am.

thank you!!

I'm so sorry he's having such a hard time. I was afraid to take the pain med because of what they do to me on an empty stomach.

Hope he feels better!

So sorry about your hubby's dry heaving.  Call the surgeon and find out if there is anything that can be done.

Hi Judy, I was extremely lucky....I only took meds the first day, and was fine after that.  I thought/hoped it might be the same with him.

Prayers and well wishes coming his way. The doctor can give him Zofran or something else for nausea. Pain meds can cause this as well as some other things so please tell the doctor. You don't want him to get dehydrated. He may need IV fluids now to get over this slump. Hope he feels better soon.

Oh, no, poor thing.  My pain meds caused me to dry heave/throw up, so they actually had to readmit me to the hospital.  Hope he feels better soon!
