This weekend I celebrated 15 Months Post-Op!  I had a blast doing all sorts of things I would have never done as my former 390 pound self!  Every day I am appreciative of the wonderful tool that was given to me by my surgeon, glad that I was able to take the risk to make the decision to have surgery, and proud of the hard work and focus that got me to my goal weight in under 13 months.  Life now in maintenance is not much different than it was when I was trying to lose.  In fact, I am still losing weight although much slower as I try to figure out where that sweet spot is for me and my caloric intake combined with exercise.

My Stats are in my signature but I will post them here also....

Height - 5'9  (I grew an inch in the weight loss process....I must be standing taller and prouder these days!)

Starting Weight - 390 Pounds

Goal Weight (Achieved less than 13 Months Post-Op) - 150

Current Weight - 135.4 (not including loose skin)

Starting BMI - 59.3

Current BMI - 19.9

Old Clothing Sizes - Size 5X and Pants Size 32

Current Clothing Sizes - Size XXS or XS and Size 4 Pants!

Do I have loose skin?  Yes....it's a hot mess underneath my clothes but I have mastered the art of skin origami and people can hardly tell what I am carrying around.  Perhaps plastics will be in my future but at this point I am unsure if that is a road I want to travel.  Truthfully if I had to do plastic surgery I'd choose to do my bat wings because I can hide the rest of it...it's the cute tank tops and summer dresses that I want to completely be rocking these days!

How did I lose so much weight?  It was simple for me really.  I got the plan and stuck with it and never changed it up ever.  I ate 600-800 calories a day, kept my carbs under 40 although usually closer to 20 grams per day, and jacked my protein to over 80 grams at least.....when I kept my eyes focused on this I never ever had to count my fat calories AND I generally never had to go with "light cheeses" for example.  I did exercise three times per week a combination of walking, running, or swimming.

The Before Times...in the not so long ago!

This past weekend!

"mastered the art of skin origami"  OMG, I LOVE YOU!  That is the best explanation for it ever!!

You look incredible!  I still have a bit before I reach my goal and I find that I'm becoming lazy about it.  I seem to be "cheating" whenever I get the chance, even though my cheats seem insignificant to me, they are obviously showing on the scale.  Thanks for the boost to get my ass in gear.  I'm far too close to stop now.

You look fabulous, and I know you FEEL it, too.

Just curious--how do you know your weight "not including" loose skin?

[I'm not gaining weight. I keep lowering my goal!] [I LOVE MY SLEEVE!]

I step on the scale and read the number?  I'm confused by your question.

That weight is not including the fact that I probably have about 10 pounds of extra skin so my true weight is likely somewhere around 125 pounds right now and now 135 like I posted.
