Need sleeve advice!!
So I have recently decided once again that I want to have Weightloss surgery. I had gallbladder surgery Tues from the same doctor that is going to do my surgery. He really wants me to have the sleeve but I have heard its not that effective for people with large BMI's I weigh 330 pounds. What are your guys thoughts on this? I like the thought of not having as many complications as the RNY
I see by your ticker that you want to lose 152. That is totally doable. I lost 140 and there are others here that have lost in excess of 200. If this is the surgery you want and you are willing to put in the effort, you CAN lose what you want to lose. Go for it! I wish you much success!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!
I started at 314 and have lost just a bit over 100 now and am still losing. I totally believe I will get to goal....and so can you!

It depends....
Here are some of the things I would think about before making your decision.
1) What are my doctors stats when it comes to the sleeve?
2) How many has he done and what is his expected EWL for me?
3) Does he make a tight sleeve?
4) Does he have a great follow up program so that I will not feel alone with this?
5) Do I lose weight easily on a 1200 calorie restricted diet?
6) Am I willing to continue to watch my diet and exercise for the rest of my life?
7) Do I understand that this is only a tool that makes weight loss and maintenance easier but does not do the work for me?
8) Do I really truly understand number 7. :)
I agree with another posting,if you loose weight easily on a 1200 calorie or less diet than you can loose a lot of weight with just the sleeve. But if genetically you don't you might want to consider a bypass of some kind. My weight has stabilized at 250 and I rarely go over 1200 calories a day, sometimes I regret not having the bypass but I'm still glad I had the surgery. good luck!
My sleeve is working great for me, so far! I started at over 300 pounds and during my preop diet I was consuming 1200 calories and was able to lose 38 pounds in about 2 months. I counted my calories and exercised about 6 times a week. No matter what surgery you do, you will have to adjust to changes and make sure exercise is in your routine. Do your research and pick the surgery that you feel is right for you. Good luck!
