Vitamin E for VSG scars?

Although my VSG incisions are small, I was wondering if anyone applied vitamin E to them to reduce the appearance of a scar? My mom suggested I buy those vitamin E capsules and just use a pin to puncture the capsule and apply the oil. If anyone did, how many weeks post op did you start to apply?

I have heard that some people have done that.  About six years ago I had surgery on my big toe.  The surgeon highly recommended Aloe Vera for appearances as well as adding pliability to the scar.  Make sure that you get 100% pure Aloe Vera or even the 99% stuff.  Trader Joe's sells a 100% variety and Target sells one that I think is either 99% or 100% Aloe Vera.

The Aloe Vera may even have Vitamin E included in some cases ... seems as if I have seen that.

I have been using it for two months and my incisions have reduced and look a lot better. My friend who had the Lap Band told me about it and I'm so glad she did. I put it on twice a day.

I didn't use anything on my incisions and now at almost a year out I can't even see where they were.

I use it on mine. I get little bottles of it at my local supermarket (Hannaford's) in the health and beauty section. It also makes a nice lip balm.
