Onederland! Finally...........I thought I'd be here a lot sooner!

I'm excited today to FINALLY be back in the 100's....(just barely). It's been almost six weeks since I was sleeved and I really thought I would have been here a lot sooner.

It seems like my weight loss has been a lot slower than most people posting on this board. Especially in the first month or two. It makes me really nervous and I try to just keep tracking and focusing on my water (which is a challenge!)

I lost 9 lbs during the one week pre-op diet, and then only 12 lbs the first month. I was stalled for two weeks the first month! Now I have lost 5 lbs in the past two weeks. I would be thrilled with this on a "normal" diet plan but when you are only taking in 600-800 calories, it seems a little slow to me!

I am staying positive, though, and staying the course..................I just see such big loses here and wish mine were a little faster!!!!

I was a bit like you in my weight loss. Went in for surgery with a weight of 229 on surgery day, lost 21 lbs and then sat there for the longest time. In fact in Month 2, my loss was 3 lbs for the entire month. The hardest part was when I was trying to move from the 200's to the 100's. I swear I sat there at 201, 200.8, 201.2, 200.4... seemed like forever. But, weight loss evened out at around 7 to 10 lbs a month and I did make it to and below my goals. Just take it 10 lbs at a time and focus on what you need to do to keep the weight loss going.

Thanks for your comparison.....that really helps to see someone that had a similar experience and made it to goal!!!! Slow and steady. We are the same height and not too far of on beginning weight. How long did it take you to reach your goal?

Congratulations on Onederland.  That must feel great!

I'm also wishing my weight loss was faster, but I try to look at the big picture.  You've lost 26 pounds in 7 weeks.  That's almost three and a half pounds a week.  You are doing better than it feels.  Keep up the good work.

Yes, 3 1/2 lbs a week is a lot better way to look at it! I keep leaving off the pre-op 9 lbs that I lost........it counts, too!!! I would have been thrilled during my Weigh****cher days to have loses like this!!!

LOL - most "normal" people would kill to only lose 12 pounds in a month!  Remember, most of those huge losses you see here are on people that have much more to lose!  Never compare yourself to others on the weight loss front - it'll only frustrate you since you'll only see the big losers, not the slow and steady ones.

Being a lightweight, your losses may seem less dramatic to you, but you are doing fantastic!  It's hard to not compare to others, I totally agree!  I am slowing down significantly now since my pre-surgery weight loss and my first month's loss...but I am getting down closer to a normal bmi, etc.  Keep doing what you're doing!  My NUT did say to contact her if I fall under 8 lbs a month...she said we may need to tweak my eating plan then.
