After Pre-Op dieting Surgery weight on 1/17/2012: 294

November 17th 2012: 165.6 (this was 10.6lbs away from a normal BMI and 15.6 pounds away from my ultimate goal).

May 17th 2013: 227lbs which is a regain of 61.4 lbs.

Month One Battle Versus the regain: is 205.2 which is a monthly loss of 21.8 lbs

I have actually been on a stall for 9 days and now today I am up 2 pounds. I am a little frustrated about it, but I am going to try and push forward because I don't want this to be an excuse to regain my regain again LOL.

Oh my goodness - what happened between November 2012 and May 2013 that caused you to gain 61 pounds?  Good for you for addressing it, but did you address whatever happened that made you undo such great progress to begin with?

I only ask because I want to make sure I don't do the same thing myself!

I allowed myself to have my trigger food, I abandoned going on OH and my hospital monthly support groups. The shame I felt and embarrassment had me spiral out of control. I was always a person day one coming out of surgery who could eat much much more than anyone else. So I was very conscious of what I was eating and weighed and measured everything. I then went to Disney for two weeks and all hell broke loose. I was then highly addicted to carbs again and was eating close to 4 PINTS of ice cream a day. Not only is my body thanking me for making the change back to a healthy lifestyle but so is my pocketbook.

Are you on MyFitnessPal?  Logging my food really helps me stay on track.

What happened to you could so easily happen to me, so I'm glad you came out of the closet!  Thanks for sharing your story!

Water water water. 2lbs could easily be water retention, so make sure you are hitting at least 100oz. Also keep your healthy fats higher, they keep your hormones balanced and will push your body to burn fat for fuel.

How wonderful that you are back on track! You are very courageous to post about your regain and share it with others. I'm certain that was very difficult and humbling for you.
You lost a great deal of weight before. You know what to do. Minor fluctuations even during weight loss are normal. Just stick to that plan that got you drop 20+ pounds this past month. Keep doing it!
Now, don't be a stranger!!!!

Welcome back!  Thank you for posting your story as it will help many of try and stay on track.  So many people think that once you hit goal and/or get close you do not have to stay on your program and watch what you eat.  That is a horrible mind set.  I may not have to watch as close as I do now once I am in maintenance but I will always have to stay aware of where I am so that I do not go back to 285lbs.

Great loss in the  first month!
