2013 Goal Accomplished ...Tough Mudder Tahoe (Pics)
I am proud to announce that I have accomplished 1 of 2 of my 2013 goals. This last weekend my team "got mud?" competed in the Tahoe Tough Mudder http://toughmudder.com/.
We came out in one piece plus bruises and minor scrapes and an experience to last a lifetime. The event is not a race but an endurance challenge both mentally and physically. It took was about 5 hours to complete and we did every obstacle including the 15 ft Walk the Plank and the Arctic Enema.
I still had energy to party the night away and give my pitcrew/photographer/life partner a little love to boot....lol. My best friend and teammate in the connecting room looked at her husband and said "Where does she find the energy". Apparently the walls are thin at Grand Sierra Casino & Resort.
So did I loose any weight from the event. Heck no...but I didn't gain either. Still steady at 140 lbs which is up from my lowest of 135 lbs but I have gained in muscle mass for sure.
Goal #2 November 2013 where I will compete in my 3rd half marathon and my goal is to beat 2:20 time by 5 minutes. I will keep you posted.
Remember these thoughts: we are stronger than we think, everyday is a new day, support is within ourselves and if lucky around us, baby steps is ok, we all have to start somewhere, it's not a diet but a lifestyle
