Three years ago today changed my life.

Today is my weight loss anniversary. It has been three years now that I made my life changing decision to have weight loss surgery ( The Sleeve). It has changed my life and still is changing my life. I am happy and healthier and still striving for more. It has changed my way of thinking and of how I feel about my self. Thank you all for the great support over the past three years.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I am thinking about having the sleeve but am not sure if it is the right surgery for me. I weight 300lbs and am only 5'2. I need to lose a lot of weight. I can see from your picture that you did great. If you don't mind my asking do you think a person could lose 150lbs with this surgery. Would you mind sharing the pros and cons of the surgery and any complications. Also, do you happen to be from the  NC area as I am looking for a good surgeon.  I have heard that some docs don't make the pouch small enough etc. Do you know anything about what size the pouch should be?  Any input would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to muster up the courage to take the leap.

Thanks!

Many people lose 150 pounds or more.  It all depends on how committed you are and how much work you are willing to put into it.

As far as the size of the sleeve (we don't have a pouch), that differs depending on your doctor.  Do a search on this site on bougie size and you will get an enormous amount of posts about he pros and cons of the different size sleeves.

I did work out 5 days a week the first year. Than the second year 2 times a week and started to gain. I now bike every day 15 to 20 miles a day. I love bike riding it is so much easier on my body than running and going to the gym.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.
