Wow, 14 pounds! That's awesome! I wish that my doctor would've let me eat that much on my diet. I was only able to eat tuna and lean deli meat. All the rest was protein shakes and clear liquids, UGH! I also got tired of the same ole things day in/day out. But it's only for a short time. Try too look at the big picture. This is only for 3 weeks. You'll be beginning a healthier life after and eventually this 3 weeks will be a mere memory! Sorry I'm not much help with your dilemma. I just wanted to congratulate him on the loss so far! Good luck on your journey!! Keep us updated!!

Meats:

Chicken

Turkey breast

Pork tenderloin

Fish (all kinds)

Shrimp, crab, lobster

Veggies:

Broccoli

Zucchini

Yellow squash

Steamed carrots

Green beans

Those were examples of things I was allowed on my pre-op diet for the one meal I was allowed.  I was not allowed starchy veggies or legumes.

Good luck to him!

You're welcome. None of the meats or veggies could be fried. Baked, steamed, broiled, boiled or poached.
